Content Strategy & Production

I worked with The Theatre Centre — a Toronto-based nonprofit live arts producer and venue — from November 2019 until November 2022, handling content creation and publishing, media relations, and creative branding strategies.

I led publicity and digital marketing strategies to reopen The Theatre Centre in September 2021 after an 18-month closure. The Theatre Centre opened to a sold-out 5-day comedy festival and coverage in The Globe and Mail. Our reopening strategy included a new websitean editorial newsletter, and a trailer for web and social.

Progress, an international festival of performance and ideas, brings some of the world's most innovative contemporary performance work to Toronto. I created content and managed the social media communities for both SummerWorks and The Theatre Centre's Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts. I also worked with Monnet Design and several curatorial partners to copy write and edit this festival program.

As a digital content creator for The Theatre Centre and SummerWorks, I produced and edited audio, video, and written content for web and social. I interviewed and facilitated conversations with artists including Nehal El-Hadi, Alanna Mitchell, Kama La Mackerel, Nikki ShaffeeullahRimah Jabr, and Dareen Abbas.

June 2020-December 2022

For director Julianna Notten's award-winning Netflix/Telefilm-funded feature Erin's Guide to Kissing Girls (2022), I scouted and worked with photographers to create promotional content. I also bought a six-pack of disposable cameras for the cast and crew to document the 14-day shoot—it was a fun, cost-effective way to capture the memories while creating great social content. In addition to managing social media, I also handle the production's grassroots promotions and

media relations.

I was the digital media and publicity lead at Sarnia's South Western International Film Festival for two years. Maintaining strong working relationships with local media, influencers, and companies was the most critical aspect of my role. In 2020, we launched a crowdfunding campaign and reached our $4000 goal in three days totalling $8000+ by the end of the month-long campaign. I handled social media, content creation, and media relations during the campaign and festival. I also edited the 2020 festival trailer for web, social, and streaming.

Oct 2018-Dec 2020

For Manifesto Community Project's 15th anniversary, I helped produce a short documentary featuring Black artists, journalists, and music execs celebrating the organization's impact on Toronto's music scene. I coordinated shooting schedules and hosted on-camera interviews. The doc premiered at the 2021 Manifesto Festival launch party headlined by Jid, Savannah Ré, and Notif.
