Marketing and Publicity

From November 2019 to April 2021, I moved between SummerWorks and The Theatre Centre as a marketing coordinator strategizing, designing, and executing marketing campaigns connecting audiences with some of the most innovative new performance work in Canada and abroad. Currently, I'm an in-house publicist at The Theatre Centre handling media coverage, ad-buying, community partnerships, and digital content creation. Sometimes I take on freelance work; select clients below.

Manifesto Festival of Community and Culture

Documentary Assistant (2021)

For Manifesto Community Project's 15th anniversary, this short documentary featured Black artists, journalists, and music execs celebrating the organization's impact on Toronto's music scene. I acted as a producer, coordinating and hosting interviews with on-camera subjects. The doc premiered at the 2021 Manifesto Festival launch party headlined by Jid, Savannah Ré, and Notif. Switch Hitter Films

Unit Publicist (2019-)

Director Julianna Notten and producer Claire Allore were granted funding from Netflix and Telefilm Canada to develop their award-winning short ERIN'S GUIDE TO KISSING GIRLS into a feature-length film. Currently, in post-production, my role on the team is to drum up media interest, coordinate set visits, produce social media content and develop an electronic press kit to complement the film upon release and distribution. South Western International Film Festival

Digital Media and Publicity Manager (2018-2020)

SWIFF is an annual film festival bringing new voices, diverse stories, and the future of filmmaking to Sarnia, Ontario since 2015. As a relatively new cultural event in rural Ontario, it was important for us to generate organic buzz within the community leading up to and during the festival. Locally producing interactive social media content and live event coverage, as well as pitching to local press and influencers rounded out this grassroots publicity strategy. Learn more about the festival here.

Sisterhood Media

Public Relations Specialist (2019-2020)

Sisterhood Media, a Toronto-based media production start-up, needed publicity support on a budget. I created a directive to inform the marketing team’s public relations strategy promoting the company’s recently launched streaming platform. The directive included an annotated press release template with a custom boilerplate, a topline industry forecast and positioning strategy, and recommendations on brand partnerships and key messages. Turning Tables Media

Unit Publicist (2019)

Award-winning short documentary TURNING TABLES gives viewers a snapshot of Anishinaabe techno artist Classic Roots’ creative process. To promote his music video release and the documentary’s festival run, I secured coverage from Toronto-based entertainment and First Nations community media outlets. For social media, I leveraged Classic Roots’ existing Ontario-wide fan base by producing sharable sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes clips. Learn more about this production here.
